Mr. Mackubin, presented a memorial from F. C. Hyde, for
additional pay, as assistant to the Librarian;

Referred to the committee on Claims.

Mr. Freaner, presented a petition against changing the
place of holding elections in the Cavetown district, of Wash-
ington county;

Referred to the Washington county delegation.

Mr. McAllister, presented a petition from J. S. Inloes, for
monies due him from the State of Maryland;

Referred to the committee on Claims.

Mr. Holland, presented a petition from R. F. Thomson,
and 160 citizens of Dorchester county, praying the passage
of a law, authorising the commissioners of said county, to
levy $500, for the use of Samuel E. Collins, as compensation
for arresting one Hugh Hoster, who was engaged in and con-
victed of aiding slaves to escape from their masters;

Referred to the Dorchester county delegation.

Mr. Goldsborough, presented a petition from John J. Laty,
Edward O'Leary and David W. Hudson, for a return of
monies overpaid to the State;

Referred to the committee on Claims.

Mr. Mackubin presented a petition of citizens of Anne

Arundel county, asking the Legislature to amend the act of

1854, chapter 3, so as to allow citizens of Anne Arundel

county to use sink boats or floats in shooting wild fowl in the

.'rivers and bays contiguous to said county ;

Which was referred to a select committee of five ;

Messrs. Legg, Mackubin. Wilson, of Harford, Rasin and
Miller, constituted said committee.

Mr. McAllister presented a petition of sundry tribes of Red
Men of Baltimore city, asking to be exempt from taxation ;

Referred to the committee on Ways and Means.

Mr. Worthington presented a petition of Walter J. Odell,
and 70 other citizens of Baltimore county, praying the pas-
sage of a bill to provide for the building of a bridge over the
Patapsco river, at Woodstock ;

Referred to the Baltimore and Howard county delegation.
