On motion of Mr. Jacobs,                                   

The whole subject was referred to the committee on the
Judiciary.

On motion of Mr. McAllister,

The House adjourned until to-morrow morning at eleven
o'clock.

THURSDAY, January 19th, 1860.

The House met pursuant to adjournment, and was opened
with prayer by the Rev. Mr. Thrush.

Present at the call of the roll the following members :

Messrs. Kilbourn, Speaker, Durant, Morgan, Rasin, Med-
ders, Welch, Mackubin, Briscoe, Parran, Compton, Burgess,
Ford, Worthington, Denison, of Baltimore county, Jones,
of Talbot, Chaplain, Dennis, of Somerset, Long, Stanford,
Lawson, Linthicum, Holland, Wilson, of Cecil, Maxwell, Mil-
ler, Legg, Jacobs, Landing, Dennis, of Worcester, Kessler,
Claggett, Routzahn, Johnson, Salmon, Naill, Wilson, of Har-
ford, Bayless, McCoy, Straughn, Goldsborough, Krafft,
Booze, Seth, Berry, McAllister, Turner, of Baltimore city,
Denison, of Baltimore city, Coudy, Eakle, Brining, Freaner,
Griffith, Harding, Gordon, Barnard, Beall, McCleary, Roop,
Gorsuch, Turner, of Howard, and Brown.

The proceedings of yesterday were read.

B. Peyton Brown, appeared and was qualified as commit-
tee clerk.

The Speaker laid before the House, the report of the in-
spector of Tobacco Warehouse, No. 3;

Which was read, and referred to the committee on In-
spections.

Mr. Denison, of Baltimore city, presented a memorial from
Henry Mankin, and others, in relation to city Passenger
Railways;
