On motion of Mr. Chaplain,

Leave was granted the Talbot county delegation, to report
a bill entitled, an act authorising William H. Ross, of Talbot
county, to construct a wharf on the navigable water of Chop-
tank river.

Mr. Morgan offered the following :

Ordered, That the committee appointed to investigate and
report the condition of the Tobacco warehouses, be, and they
are hereby authorised and empowered to select a clerk to ac-
company them in the discharge of the trust reposed in them,
who shall receive for his services such compensation as the
committee shall direct.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Berry presented a petition from Barney Kinsey and
Jos. H. Amey, et. al., in relation to a modification of the law
regulating the licenses of oyster houses, &c;

Which was referred to the committee on Ways and Means.

Mr. Dennis, of Somerset, moved to reconsider the vote by
which the resolution authorising the Adjutant General to
furnish Capt. John Bond, of the Port Republic Rangers, with
sixty Minnie rifles, were passed :

Which motion was lost.

Mr. Freaner presented a petition for changing the place of
holding the election polls, in the Cavetown district of Wash-
ington county;

Referred to the Washington county delegation.
On motion of Mr. Jacobs,

'The rules were suspended, and the resolutions submitted
by him yesterday, were put upon a second reading.

Mr. Jacobs, proposed the following amendment:

Fill the blank after the words, "the sum of," with "two
thousand dollars."

Mr. Chaplain, proposed to fill the blank with "five thou-
sand dollars.''

Mr. McCleary, moved to fill the blank with "five hun-
dred dollars."
