A bill entitled, an act to amend the charter of the Baltimore

Copper Smelting Company;

Which was read the second time.         

A bill entitled, an act to amend an act entitled, an act to in-
corporate the Mutual Insurance Company of Frederick county,
passed at December Session, 1843, Chapter 199;

Which was read the second time.                     

A bill entitled, an act to make valid a deed from the Llangollen
Mining Company to George W. Kildow;         

Which was read the second time.

A bill entitled, an act to allow a pension to Joseph Benson, a
private in the war of the revolution, and appropriating a sum of
money for the payment thereof;                                       

Which was read the second time,

Mr. Hall moved to strike out the word, "also" in the 2nd section

of the 7th line;           

Which was adopted.

A bill entitled, an act to authorize Judges of Courts having
criminal jurisdiction to provide more effectually for the service of
the process of their respective courts;             

Which was read the second time.
The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following bills:

Johnson for professional services rendered the State;

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Committee
on Claims.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Committee on
the Judiciary.

A bill entitled, an act authorizing the Comptroller of the Trea-
surer to pay to Oelrichs & Lurman the amount of coupons lost in
the U. S. Mail Steamer Arctic;

Which was read the first time, and

                             

On motion of Mr. Lester,
It was referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.
