The question being on the adoption of said message;
It was determined in the affirmative.

The Senate bill entitled, an act amendatory of an act to incor-
porate the Baltimore Steam Packet Company, by authorising said
Company to make contracts for breaking tracks through the
ice;                                                                                                  

Was read the second time, and                                    

Three fourths of the members concurring, was read the third
time and passed by yeas and nays as follows:

The Speaker laid before the House the following communica-
tion:             

Annapolis, March 10th, 1856.
Hon. Wm. H. TRAVERS,
Speaker of the House of Delegates:

SIR.—On this, the last day of our session, alter having dis-
posed of every measure committed to my charge as Chairman of
the Committee of Ways and Means, I most respectfully ask leave
to tender to you my resignation as a delegate from the city of
Baltimore to the General Assembly of Maryland, for the years
eighteen hundred and fifty-six and fifty-seven.

With much consideration,
