valued member of this House; and after witnessing its operations
and having its principles illustrated and explained by that hono-
rable gentleman himself, with the aid of the working model now
in this city, we do not hesitate to pronounce it a most efficient in-
strument for protection against the many fearful Railroad accidents
which of late from time to time have brought sorrow and afflic-
tion to the heart of the civilized world, and we earnestly commend
it to the adaption of all who have the charge and management of
Railroads in this and other countries.

Which was read and adopted.

On motion of Mr. Lawson,

A bill entitled, an act to enable Lorenzo T. Nelson to receive
and receipt for the money in the hands of John Nelson and Hance
Lawson, due to him ;                     

Was read the second time, and

Three fourths of the members concurring, was read the third
time and passed by yeas and nays as follows:
