Which was read and referred to the Committee on Judiciary,

Also, reports from George H. Williams, Secretary of the Bal-
timore and Harford and Baltimore and Havre-de-Grace Turnpike
Companies; which                           

On motion of Mr. Kildow,
Were referred to the Committee on Internal Improvements.

Mr. Dorsey presented a petition from John B. Nichols, Col-
lector of first collection district of Anne Arundel county, asking
to have refunded him $46.77, erroniously paid into the State Trea-
sury;.
Which was read and referred to Committee on Claims.
On motion of Mr Harrington,                                   
Leave was granted to introduce a bill to attach salaries of offi-
cers of this State:

An act to make the salaries of officers of this State subject to
attachment.                       

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
salary paid the State, to any person holding any office under the
same, may be attached to satisfy any judgment, obtained in any
Court or before any Justice of the Peace in this State, in the
same manner as money due to any inhabitant of this State against
whom judgment has been obtained, is now, by law subject to at-
tachment;

On motion of Mr. Daniel,
Ordered, That the Sergeant-at-arms, assisted by the Door-
keeper of this House, be and they are hereby required to keep
regularly filed the House and Senate Journals and Bills, belong-
ing to the members of this House for their use.
