On motion of Mr. Kennedy,

The rules were suspended, and the House took up for consi-
deration.

The bill entitled, an act regulating the licenses of Hawkers,
Pedlars and Hucksters, and for other purposes;

Mr. Harris moved to strike out all after the word "merchan-
dise," in the 5th line, to the ward "until," in the 8th line, in the
first section;                                                     

Which was assented to.                        

Mr. Kennedy moved to strike out the words "huckster or
hucksters," in the 13th, 14th, 15th and 22nd lines;

Which was assented to.
Mr. Silver moved to strike out "twenty," in the 17th line, and

insert "forty;"                       

Which was assented to.               

Mr. Silver moved to strike out "thirty," in the 19th line, and
insert "fifty;"                     

Which was assented to.

Mr. Brengle moved to strike out "fifty," in the 20th line, and
insert "seventy;"

Which was assented to.

Mr. Brengle moved to strike out all after the word "issue," in
the 25th line;

Which was assented to.

Mr. Kennedy moved to strike out, in line 4th, all after the
word "merchandise," to the word "without," in the 6th line of
the 2nd section;                                             

Which was assented to.

Also, to strike out "or hucksters," in the 9th, 12th and 13th
lines;

Which was assented to.

Also, to strike out "or any poultry, eggs, butter, or any kind of
meat or stock," in the 14th and 15th lines;

Which was assented to.                     

Mr. Jarrett moved to strike out "fifty," in the 16th line, and
insert "two hundred ;"

Which was not assented to.
