Which was referred to a Select Committee of five.

Mr. Carper presented a petition from sundry citizens of Fred-
erick and Carroll counties, asking the Legislature to enact a law
to authorize the Commissioners of Frederick and Carroll coun-
ties to appropriate certain sum for re-erecting a Bridge across
Double Pipe Creek;                                                   

Which was read and referred to Carroll and Frederick delega-
tions.                                                           

Mr. Heath presented a petition from Jacob Hoff and others
praying the passage of an act to authorize the making and exe-
cution of a Deed of Property in Baltimore county to Thomas
Kenseth;                                                                             

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Judiciary.

On motion of Mr. Merrick,                                               

Ordered, That the Select Committee heretofore appointed to
consider and report upon all that part of the Governor's Message
which relates to secret political societies, be authorized and di-
rected in their investigations to examine witnesses on oath—and
that all persons attending and testifying before said committee, be
allowed and paid the same mileage and per diem as is usually al-
lowed to witnesses in attendance upon the Circuit Court for Anne
Arundel County;                                                                         

Which was read and adopted,

On motion of Mr. Kildow,           

Leave was grunted to bring in a bill to make valid a deed from

the Llangollen Mining Company to Silas Kight; also,

Leave to bring in a bill to make valid a deed from the Llang-
ollen Mining Company to John Crawford; also,

Leave to bring in a bill to make valid a deed from the Llang-
ollen Mining Company to John Kight; also,

Leave to bring in a bill to make valid a deed from the Llang-
ollen Mining Company to Henry H. Kight;

Which were read and referred to the Committee on Judiciary.


On motion of Mr. Abbott,

Leave was granted the Baltimore city delegation to introduced
bill entitled, an act to prevent obstructions in Union Dock in the
City of Baltimore;                                                     

Which was read and referred to the Baltimore city delegation.
