Which was read the first time.
Mr. Plowden, from the select committee,

Reported favorably on a bill entitled, an act to prevent the citi-
zens of other Stales from hauling seines in the waters of the Isle
of White bay and its tributaries in the State of Maryland.

Mr. Wilson, of Calvert, from the committee on engrossed
bills,

Reported that they had examined engrossed bills from No. 45
to No. 88, inclusive.

Which was assented to, and
Said bills were sent to the Senate.

Mr. Partridge reported a bill for the preservation, security, and
keeping in order of the public buildings, and the custody of the
fire apparatus, and appropriating a sum of money therefore;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Stone reported a bill entitled, an act to extend to the person-
al representatives of Absalom Tennison, deceased, late a collec-
tor of taxes in Charles county, further time to complete his col-
lections;

Which was read the first time.

Also, a bill entitled, an act to allow Joseph Stewart, former
sheriff of Charles county, further time to complete his collec-
tions;                                                                                         

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Rankin reported a bill entitled, an act to amend an act en-
titled, a further supplement to an act to provide for the weighing
and inspection of hay and straw brought for sale in the city of
Baltimore, passed at January session 1849;                             

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Harris reported a bill entitled, an act to increase the capi-
tal stock of the St. Mary's Savings Institution;

Which was read the first time.

Also, a bill entitled, an act to authorise the County Commis-
sioners of St. Mary's county, to close the public landing at the
Queen Tree in said county, and condemn a new landing near the
same, and change the road thereto;                                             

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Rowles reported a bill entitled, an act to authorize the Or-
phans' Court of Howard county to appoint commissioners to di-
vide primary school district number nine, of the second election
