Edward W. Belt, late Clerk of the Circuit Court for Prince
George's county, for certain fees due him by the State,

The Speaker laid before the House the following report :
Treasury Department,           

                                   Comptroller's Office,

           Annapolis, March 3d, 1856.

To the Honorable William H. Traver,

Speaker of the House of Delegates.

Sir---In compliance with an order of the House of Delegates re-

quiring "the Comptroller to report what benefit, if any, has been de-

rived by the Patapsco Female Institute from a Lottery, the draw-

ings of which were authorized by an Act passed by the General

Assembly of Maryland, at December session 1839, chapter 217,

for the benefit of said Institute," I have the honor to submit the

Female Institute under the provisions of the Act of 1839, above

mentioned:

Mr. Stone from the Select committee reported favorably on a
bill entitled, an act amendatory of an act passed at January ses-
sion 1854, chapter 172, entitled, an act to regulate fisheries in
the waters of the Potomac river, within the jurisdiction of Mary-
land, and to protect the breed of fish therein;
