1856.]          OF THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,          633,

On motion of Mr. Rankin,

Leave was granted the Baltimore county delegation to intro-
duce a bill to provide for the weighing of live stock at the Eas-
tern Hay Scales in the city of Baltimore.

Mr. Harris presented a petition of Neale Harris & Co., Asa
Needham & Son, Penn & Mitchell, Thos. J. Hall & Co., and
other Commission Merchants in the city of Baltimore, against the
appointment of Inspector General of Tobacco, and in opposition
to any change in the present system of Tobacco Inspections;

Which was referred to the Committee on Judiciary.             

Mr. Lester submitted the following order,                           

Ordered, That the Rev. N. Wilson, and other Ministers of the
Gospel of this State, be permitted to withdraw their memorials in
reference to Marriage Licenses, from the files of this House;

Which was adopted.                                                   

The Speaker presented a petition of Jaccob Powles, Martin
King, and other citizens of Washington county, in opposition to
the removal of the Virginia and Maryland Bridge Company;

Which was referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

And also a petition of David Beeler and 15 other citizens of
Washington county, in opposition to the removal of the Virginia
and Maryland Bridge Company;

Which was referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Mr. Whitby presented a petition of J. E. Rochester, James H.
Fountain, and 21 other citizens of Caroline county, asking an act
of the Legislature authorising the Trustees of Denton District
Primary School, in the Second Election District of Caroline coun-
ty, to levy such tax as they may think necessary to meet the ex-
penses of said School;

Which was referred to Caroline county delegation.               

On motion of Mr. Duvall,                                                     

Leave was granted the Committee on Militia to introduce a
bill for the relief of the 53rd regiment of Volunteer Infantry,

On motion of Mr. Partridge,

The rules were suspended to take up a bill entitled, an act to
provide for and regulate the Registration of Births, Deaths and
Marriages in this State;

Which was read the third time, and passed by yeas and nays
as follows:
