Which was referred to the Dorchester county delegation.

Also, a memorial of sundry citizens of Dorchester county for the
suppression of convents or nunneries;                                   

Which was referred to the Committee on Convents.
Mr. Askew presented sundry petitions from citizens of the 18th
ward, asking that the said ward shall be divided into two or more
wards;

Which Were referred to the Baltimore city delegation.

And a petition of Wm. J. Nicholls, Wm. Benson, John W.
Walker and others, of Baltimore city, praying for an act of in-
corporation for the Pawnee Tribe of the Improved Order of Red
Men, No. 22;

Which was referred to the Committee on Corporations.

Mr. Griffith presented a petition against abolishing the office of
State Chemist;

Which was referred to the Committee on Agriculture.
Mr. Harding presented a petition from sundry citizens of
Montgomery county, to allow free negroes residing in the District
of Columbia to visit their relations and parents in Montgomery
county, under certain restrictions;

Which was referred to the Committee on Colored Population.
On motion of Mr. Stone,             

Leave was granted to introduce a bill to authorize Joseph
Stewart, late Sheriff of Charles county to complete his collections;

On motion of Mr. Davis,              

Leave was granted to introduce a bill for the more effectual de-
struction of Foxes in Frederick county;

Mr. Stewart presented a petition of 75 citizens of Howard
county, praying the Legislature to pass a law prohibiting the erec-
tion of nunneries hereafter, and to suppress those already in ex-
istence,                                                     

Which was referred to the committee on Convents.

Mr. Partridge presented a petition of J. G. Harvey, H. S.
Manning and others, in relation to licenses of pedlars and huck-
sters in the city of Baltimore;                                 

Which was referred the Committee on Ways and Means.

Mr. Chilcoat presented a petition from sundry citizens of Bal-
timore county for the suppression of nunneries;

Which was referred to the Committee on Convents.
