On motion of Mr. Fiery,
Ordered, That the General Inspector of Flour, in the city of
Baltimore, be, and is hereby requested to report to the General
Assembly of Maryland, in conformity to the provisions of the

Constitution.

On motion of Mr. Fiery,            

Ordered, That the Committee on Inspections be instructed to
inquire into the expediency of increasing the number of Flour In-
spectors in the city of Baltimore.

Mr. Rankin asked leave to withdraw the resolution offered by

him on the ninth of January ,                   

Which was granted.

Mr. Rankin offered the following Preamble and Resolutions,

Resolution requiring a report of the proceedings had under the
Act of January Session eighteen hundred and forty four, Chapter
one hundred and forty-four, entitled an Act to provide for the erec-
tion of a Court House and other appropriate Public Buildings
in Baltimore County.

Whereas, By an Act passed at January Session, eighteen hundred
and fifty-four entitled an 'Act to provide for the erection of a Court
House and other appropriate Public Buildings in Baltimore Coun-
ty,' certain parties were constituted a Board of Commissioners with
authority to select suitable lots for the location of said public
buildings and to contract for the building of the same, and the
county commissioners for said county were authorized to sell, or
pledge, certain stocks for the purpose of providing the funds ne-
cessary for the objects of said Act; and whereas, it is proper that
the citizens of Baltimore county should be informed of the man-
ner in which their said agents have performed their duties reposed
by said Act, and of the amount of expenditures incurred under
the same; Therefore,                         

Resolved, By the General Assembly of Maryland, That Jo-
seph D. Pope, Joshua Hutchins, Edward S. Myers, William Sla-
ter and Charles Timanus, the Board of Commissioners appointed
by the Act of January Session eighteen hundred and fifty-four,
chapter one hundred and forty-four, be, and they are hereby requir-
ed, to report forthwith to this General Assembly a detailed state-
ment of their proceedings under the Act aforesaid, setting forth
copies of all contracts, or sub-contracts, written or verbal, made
by them, or under their authority, in reference to the erection of
said public buildings, and also a detailed statement of all orders
or drafts drawn by them or any of them on the County Commis-
sioners of Baltimore County, showing in whose favor such orders
or drafts were drawn, with their respective dates and amounts,
