A bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Kent county Rail Road
Company;

Was read the first time, and referred to the committee on In-
ternal Improvements.

A bill entitled, an act for the benefit of Zadoch Towsal, of

Somerset county;                       

Was read the first time, and referred to Messrs. Toadvine,
Daniels and Lawson.

A bill entitled, an act to pay John T. Wright a sum of money
for services rendered by him as assistant door-keeper to the Sen-
ate;

Was read the first time, and referred to the committee on
Claims.

A bill entitled, an. act to refund to John C. Mullikin, Adminis-
trator of Owen Norfolk, late clerk of the circuit court for Prince
George's county, and to William A. Jarboe, Register of Wills for
same county, certain sums of money erroneously paid into the
Treasury;

Was read the first time, and referred to the Committee on

Claims.

A bill entitled, an act to authorise and require the county com-
missioners for Kent and Queen Anne's county, to levy on
their respective counties a sum of money to erect a free bridge
over Chester river, at a point called Crompton's Ferry,

Was read the first time and referred to Messrs. Griffith, Golds-
borough and Rolph.                                                                   

And a bill entitled, an act amendatory of the act passed at the
present session, and entitled, an act to lay out and establish a
new election district in Somerset county, to be called election
district number fourteen, or Lawson's district,

Was read the first time and referred to Messrs. Toadvine,
Wilson and Lawson.

Also returned a bill entitled, an act entitled, an act to change
the line dividing election district number three, from district
number five, in Allegany county.

A bill entitled, an act to authorise the Orphans' Court of Kent
county, and Justices of the Peace binding out negro children, to
regulate freedom dues to the apprentices, and secure a compen-
sation to the parent or other persons for raising such chil-
dren.

A bill entitled, an act for the relief of Ann Brown and Wm. J.
Stone.
