518             JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS         [Feb. 29,

On motion of Mr. Wickes,

Leave was granted to the committee on corporations to report
a bill to incorporate the Woodmount coal and iron company,

On motion of Mr. Lawson,

Leave was granted to Somerset county delegation to introduce
a bill to enable Lowann T. Nelson, a minor, to receive certain,
money belonging to him, now in the hands of Hance Lawson

and John Nelson, Sr.                   

Mr. Silver, from the committee on corporations, reported a bill
entitled, an act to incorporate the Montgomery machine and
manufacturing company;           

Which was read the first time.

Also reported favorably on a bill entitled, an act to incorporate
the Farmers' and Merchants' Bank of Cecil county ;

And reported favorably on a bill entitled, an act to incorpo-
rate a bank at Centreville, in Queen Anne's county.

Mr. Partridge, from the committee on Judiciary, to which was
referred the bill relating to the tolls and charges of the Northern
Central railroad company, report unfavorably thereon; that no
proof has been exhibited before them that said Company has
exceeded its powers, under the laws, and that it is inexpedient at
this time to legislate thereon.                                                 

Which was adopted.             

On motion of Mr. Rankin,              

The vote just taken on the Report, was reconsidered.

Mr. Rankin called for the yeas and nays, and was determined

in the negative, as follows:
