corporate the Baltimore and Green Spring Avenue Company;

Which was referred to the committee on Internal Improve-
ments.

Mr. Witmer presented a petition of Samuel Maysilles and 50
other citizens of Washington county, in reference to nunneries;

Which was referred to the special committee on that subject.

Mr. Harrington presented a petition of J. C. Neilson and oth-
ers, for leave to withdraw their names from a petition in favor of
a bill to incorporate the Baltimore and Green Spring Avenue
Company;

Which was referred to the committee on Internal Improve-
ments.

Mr. Corby presented a petition from Wm. Stickel and 37 other
citizens of Washington county, praying that the Maryland and
Virginia Bridge Company may not be exempted from taxation;

Which was referred to the committee on ways and means.

Mr. Kennedy presented the petition of John S. Dannell and
other voters of the 18th ward of the city of Baltimore, praying a
division of said ward;

Which was referred to the Baltimore city delegation.             

The Speaker presented a similar petition from Joseph M. Per-
egoy and others, voters in the 18th ward of the city of Baltimore;

Which was referred to the Baltimore city delegation.

Mr. Carper presented a petition of 23 citizens of Frederick
county asking for an appropriation for the support of a high school
in the village of Burkettsville;

Which was referred to the committee on Education.

Mr. Kildow presented the petition of twenty-seven citizens of
Westernport, asking an act of incorporation for said town;

Which was referred to the Committee on Corporations.

Leave was granted the Committee on Corporations to introduce
a bill to incorporate the Townson and Baltimore Railroad Com-

Leave was granted the Calvert delegation to introduce a bill to
authorise Lewis Griffith to build a wharf at Lyon's creek, on the
Patuxent river, and to charge wharfage for the same.
