Mr. Dail offered the following amendment :

                 

Strike out "fifty" and insert "twenty."         

                                                               

Amendment assented to.           

The said bill was then read the second time and ordered to be
engrossed for the third reading.

A bill entitled, an act to provide for and regulate the registra-
tion of Births, Deaths and Marriages in this State;

Mr. Partridge offered the following amendment:

In 1st section 3d line strike out "Superior Court" and insert
"Court of Common Pleas;"
Amendment assented to.                                   

Mr. Stubbs offered the following amendment:             

'Insert after the word "father" in section 3, line 2nd, "if known;"

Amendment assented to.


Mr. Partridge offered the following amendment:

Fill the blank with "ten cents;"

"Amendment assented to.                                            

Mr. Roberts offered the following amendment:

After the word "oaths" in the 6th line of 6th lection insert
"or affirmations;"

Section 7, 4th line, after the words "county and" insert "to the
Clerk of the Court of Common Pleas of Baltimore;"

Mr. Kildow offered the following amendment:

Section 10, 9th line, strike out the word "twenty" and insert
"one;"

Amendment assented to.

Mr. Partridge offered the following additional section:

Sec. 11. And be it enacted, That the Governor of this State
be and he is hereby authorized and requested to hare prepared and
distributed among the clerks of the several counties and to the
Court of Common Pleas of the City of Baltimore, appropriate
blank forms of returns of the registry herein required, to be by
them filled up and returned to the Secretary of State according
to the provisions of this act, and in compliance with such instruc-
tions as he may think proper to secure uniformity therein;
