Mr. Carper offered the following message :

By the House of Delegates.                 

                                       January 11th, 1856.

Gentlemen of the Senate :

The message from your Honorable Body, asking the return of
the message concurring in the appointment of a Joint Committee
to take into consideration the Report of the Commissioners ap-
pointed under Article 3d, Section 17, of the Constitution, to re-
vise, simplify and abridge the Rules of Practice, Pleadings, Forms
of Conveyancing and proceedings of the Courts of Record in this

State, is hereby complied with.

Which was read, assented to, and sent to the Senate.

Mr. Silver, Chairman of the Committee on Corporations, re-
ported favorably on a bill entitled, an act to amend an act enti-
tled an act to incorporate the Fremont Savings Institution of
Baltimore.

Mr. Silver, Chairman of the Committee on Corporations, re-
ported favorably on a bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Dula-
ney's Valley, and Towsontown Turnpike Company, in Baltimore
county.

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Stone reported a bill entitled, an act authorizing the Com-
missioners of the tax of Charles county, to correct certain assess-
ments ;

Which was referred to the committee on Ways and Means.

Mr. Daniel reported a bill entitled, an act to incorporate certain
persons as trustees of the Methodist Episcopal Church, in Prin-
cess Ann, in Somerset county, to be called the "Antioch Church,"
and to vest the property of said Church in said trustees;

Which was read the first time.                                               

Mr. Daniel reported a bill entitled, an act to lay out and estab-
lish a new Election District in Somerset county, to be called
Election District No. 14, or Lawson's District;

Which was read the first time.                                     

Mr. Dorsey reported a bill entitled, an act amendatory of an
act passed at January Session, 1854, chapter 194, entitled, an
act lor the better protection of slaveholders in the several coun-
ties therein mentioned.

Which was read the first time.
