Which was referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Mr. Harrington presented a petition of A. Fenton and others of
Baltimore city, praying a division of the 18th ward in said city.
Which was referred to the Baltimore city delegation.

Mr. Hauver presented a petition of sundry citizens of Freder-
ick county; praying the passage of a law authorizing the county
commissioners to levy a sum of money to build a bridge over Mid-
dle creek;

Which was referred to the Committee on Roads and Highways.

Mr. Duvall, from the committee on Militia presented a report
from the Adjutant General in obedience to an order of the House.

Mr. Partridge presented a petition of Z. Collins Lee, W. L.
Marshall and others, praying the repeal of the act of 1854, chap-
ter 101, limiting the services of petit jurors in the city of Balti-

more.

Which was referred to the Committee on Judiciary.

On motion of Lester,                                   

Leave was granted the Committee on Inspections to introduce
a bill to regulate the inspection of lumber in this State,

On motion of Mr. Rowles, it was

Ordered, That the Speaker of this House be and he is hereby
authorized to appoint one additional committee clerk for the resi-
due of the session.                                               

On motion of Mr. Brown,                              

Leave was granted to the Carroll delegation to introduce A bill
to authorize and require the commissioners of Carroll county to
levy an additional sum of money, over and above the amount
now allowed for the support of David Marsh, an insane pauper
of said county;                               

On motion of Mr. Hugg,

Leave was granted the Committee on Inspections to introduce
a bill to widen MeEldry's dock on its west side, opposite the State
property.                     

On motion of Mr. Silver,                       

Leave was granted the Committee on Corporations to intro-
duce a bill to incorporate the Montgomery Machine and Manu-
facturing Company.
