Mr. Miller presented a petition of Charles A. Bryan and thirty
other citizens of Cecil county, asking for the incorporation of a
Railroad Company to make a Railroad from Elkton to Sassafras
river:

Mr. Griffith presented a memorial of- fifty-four citizens of Kent
county asking that negro testimony be not received against white

persons;                                                                                    

Which was referred to the Committee on Colored Population.

Mr. Smith, of Carroll, presented a petition of citizens of Car-
roll county for the passage of a law increasing constables' fees;

Which was referred to the Carroll county delegation.

Mr. Harding presented a petition of Charles Stewart and oth-
ers for an act to incorporate a Bank and Manufacturing Company
in Montgomery county;                       

Which was referred to the Committee on Corporations.

Mr. Dorsey presented repetition of fifty citizens of Anne Arun-
del and Howard counties, for the protection of game;

Which was referred to the Anne Arundel and Howard county
delegations.                                                                                     

Mr. Lester submitted the following order:           

Ordered, That three members of the Committee on Internal Im-
provements be and they are hereby requested to proceed to Bal-
timore county and examine the lands upon which it is proposed
to open a Road from Newington Avenue to Green Spring Valley,
and report the result of their investigations to the House;

The question being taken it was determined in the negative.

Leave was granted the Committee on Corporations to introduce
a bill to incorporate the Monumental Insurance Company of Bal-
timore.

troduce a bill to regulate and grade auctioneers licenses in the city
of Baltimore.
