1. What is the present condition of the investments made from
time to time, for the benefit of the Sinking Fund?
2. What disposal has been made by the present Treasurer or
his predecessors, of the bonds or certificates of debt issued by
the State of Maryland, and purchased by them or him, and which
now constitute the Sinking Fund; whether the same have been
cancelled, destroyed, or in any other way invalidated, and thus
placed beyond the contingency of being re-issued or mis-used,
&c.?
3. To report to the present General Assembly of Maryland,
for its further action, such information as said committee may
obtain in the discharge of its duty, with such suggestions and
recommendations as in their judgment shall best accomplish the
object proposed. We have appointed Messrs. Tyler, Hoffman
and Schley on the part of the Senate, to join the gentlemen who
may be appointed on the part of your honorable body.

Mr. Brengle, from the committee on ways and means, report-
ed favorably on the bill entitled, an act to regulate the sale of
goods, ware or merchandise and other property in the city of Bal-
timore.
Also, favorably on a bill entitled, an act for the relief of Thos.
J. Pierpont and the heirs of Francis Feelemeyer, of Baltimore
county;
Also, from a select committee, a bill entitled, an act authoris-
ing the County Commissioners of Frederick county to make polls
in District No. 2, of said county.
The Secretary of the Senate returned the bill entitled, a sup-
plement to an act entitled, an act to incorporate the Worcester
Rail Road Company, passed January session, 1853, chapter
273,
Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays."
Also delivered a bill entitled, a supplement to an act to provide
for carrying into effect the 22nd section of the fourth article of
the Constitution, passed January session, 1852, chapter 68, ex-
plaining and enlarging the operation of said original act, in aid
of the purpose declared in the title thereof;
Which was read the first time, and referred to the Committee
on Judiciary.
Also delivered a bill entitled, an act to extend the equitable
