400            JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS            [Feb. 21,

Isle of White Bay and its tributaries, belonging to the State of
Maryland.

On motion of Mr. Jarrett,                                 

Leave was granted to the Harford delegation to introduce a
bill to incorporate a turnpike company from White Hall on the
the Baltimore and Susquehanna Rail Road to Jarrettsville.

On motion of Mr. Roberts,

Leave was granted Messrs. Roberts, Heath and Brown, to in-
troduce a bill to cede to the United States the jurisdiction of the
State of Maryland in and to, and over a part of Hog Island in the
Potomac river.                             

On motion of Mr. Daniel,

Leave was granted Messrs. Daniel, Davis and Lester, to intro-
duce a bill to restrict the sale of all intoxicating, malt or ferment-
ed liquors in election district No. 4, of Somerset county.

On motion of Mr. Dail,

The rules were suspended to enable him to present a memorial
of sundry citizens of Dorchester county, for the passage of a law
for the relief of David M. Robinson, therein mentioned;              

Which was referred to the Committee on Judiciary.

Also, a petition of sundry citizens of Dorchester county, pray-
ing the passage of a law prohibiting non-residents from dredging
or taking oysters from Fishing creek, or its tributaries, in said
county;                                   

Which was referred to the Dorchester delegation.

On motion of Mr. Waters,

Leave was granted the Anne Arundel delegation to introduce
a bill to regulate the Academy fund for Anne Arundel county.

Mr. Silver, from the Committee on Corporations, reported a
bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Patapsco Bank of Mary-
land, with certain amendments.

Mr. Heath, from the Committee on Education, reported a bill
entitled, an act for the establishment of a uniform system of Pub-
lic Education in the State of Maryland;                                       

Which was read the first time.             

Mr. Frazier, from the Committee on Claims, reported a bill
entitled, an act appropriating a sum of money for the use of N.
