Also, a petition of Thomas Jones, jr., of Carroll county, pray-
ing a change in the law concerning the service of process by con-
stables in this State:                                                 

Which was referred to the Committee on Judiciary.

Mr. Frazier presented a memorial of Thomas E. Martin, pray-
ing compensation for certain Legislative printing;.

Which was referred to the Committee on Claims.
On motion of Mr. Stone,

Leave was granted the Charles and St. Mary's delegations to
introduce a bill for the relief of the securities of William Nevet,
late collector of Charles county.                       

On motion of Mr. Roberts,

Leave was granted the Talbot and Caroline delegations to in-
troduce a bill supplementary to an act entitled, an act to continue
the corporate existence of the several banking institutions therein
mentioned so far as relates to the Easton Bank of Maryland,

On motion of Mr. Smith, of Baltimore,                           

Leave was granted the Committee on Corporations to introduce
a bill to incorporate the Powhattan company of Maryland.

On motion of Mr. Tower,                                           

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to intro-
duce a bill to revive the act incorporating the North Branch Com-

pany.                                                         

On motion of Mr. Loughridge,                                       

Leave was granted to introduce a bill to repeal the 2d section
of chapter 22, 1809, to fix the mode of electing Senators to rep-
resent this State in the Senate of the United States.

On motion of Mr. Hall,                                                   

Leave was granted the Committee on Judiciary to introduce a
bill to make valid the last will and testament of Eleanor Mulli-
can, late of Montgomery county, deceased.

On motion of Mr. Sudler,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Colored Population to
introduce a bill to be entitled, an act relating to free negroes and
slaves in Kent county.

On motion of Mr. Parker,

Leave was granted to the Worcester delegation to introduce a
bill entitled, an act to protect the fisheries in the waters of the
