missioners of tax, of Montgomery county, to levy a sum of mo-
ney for the relief of Martha Henley and her children.

Was read the second time.           

A bill entitled, a supplement to an act entitled, an act for found-
ing a college at Chestertown;


Was read the second time.                                                     

A bill entitled, an act to authorize the removal of criminal cases

from the criminal court of Baltimore city, to the circuit courts of,

Anne Arundel and Howard counties.

On motion of Mr. Stewart,                           

The said bill was postponed to Thursday, the 21st.
On motion of Mr. Hall,

The rules were suspended to have bill No. 211 reconsidered
and recommitted.                        

The House proceeded with the order of the evening.

A bill entitled, an act authorizing the vestry of Catoctin Parish
in Frederick county, to hold additional real estate for Parish pur-
poses not to exceed a certain quantity:                               

Was read the second time.

A bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Gas Coal Company of
the Big Youghogany;

Was read the second time.                   

A bill entitled, an act relating to free negroes and slaves;
Mr. Corby moved the enacting clause be stricken out;
Which was determined in the affirmative.               

A bill entitled, an act to incorporate Susquehanna Tribe No.
27, of the Improved order of Red Men,

Was read the second time.

A bill entitled, an act to amend an act entitled, an act to amend
the charter of the Union Plank or Turnpike Road Company, pas-
sed at January session, 1854,                          

Was read the second time.                 

A bill entitled, an act to authorise the County Commissioners
of Frederick county, at their discretion, to levy a sum of money
to construct a bridge across Tom's Creek, in Frederick county,
