EVENING SESSION,             

8 o'clock, P. M.

The House met. Present at the call of the fall the following
members;

Messrs. Speaker, Sudler, Dorsey, Neff, Waters, Dowell,
Stone, Chilcoat, Rankin, Wright, Cullings, Roberts, Toadvine,
Daniel, Dail, Frazier, Scott, Stubbs, Bowie, Goldsborough,
Parker, Timmons, Smith, of Worcester, Carper, Grove, Hauver,
Duvall, Jarrett, Silver, Whitby, Stack, Smith, of Baltimore city,
Abbott, Askew, Harrington, Fiery, Reichard, Loughridge, Corby,
Tower, Kildow, Frey, Smith, of Carroll, Buffington, Stewart,

Rowles.                             

The proceedings of last evening were read.

The Hon. James S. Carper, by appointment of the Speaker,
took the chair as Speaker pro tem.

The order being a bill entitled, an act to repeal an act entitled,
an act to regulate fisheries in the waters of the Potomac river,
within the jurisdiction of Maryland, and to protect the breed of
fish therein;

           

Was read the second time.                                     

A bill entitled, an act to authorize the Commissioners of the
Land office to issue a warrant of resurvey and patent for certain
lands in Allegany county;

Was read the second time.

A bill entitled, an act to amend an act entitled, an act to incor-
porate the Fremont Savings Institution of Baltimore, by allowing
said institution the privileges embraced under the act entitled, an
act to continue the corporate existence of the several banking

houses therein mentioned, passed January session 1853, chapter
441.

                                                             

Was read the second time.                   

A bill entitled, an act supplementary to an act entitled, an act
to incorporate a company, to make a turnpike road from Middle-
town in Frederick county, to the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal, at
some point thereon, in the Catoctin valley, between the Catoctin
and Blue ridge mountain;                           

Was read the second time.
