hereby authorized to sell the stock or the bonds of the company at
such prices, and on such terms and conditions as the said com-
pany may deem expedient, and may declare dividends payable, in
stock as scrip."                                                                   

Section 10th. And be it enacted, That the said company may
have the privilege and they are hereby empowered at their option
to receive on subscription to their capital stock in lieu of money,
other mortgages or deeds for land, at a valuation, and on such
terms as may be agreed upon by said company and such subscri-
bers; and all land so received shall be exposed to sale in good
faith within ten years from the dates of said deeds respectively,
Provided, That nothing herein contained shall be so construed
as to authorise the said company to release any cash subscrip-
tions by accepting land in thereof."

"Section 11th. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the day of its passage.

Amendment to title.

           

An act amendatory of an act entitled, an act to incorporate
the Maryland and Delaware railroad company, passed at January
session, 1854, chapter 274, granting extensions of said railroad
and other privileges.                                                             

On motion of Mr. Roberts,
