On motion of Mr. Jarrett,
Ordered, That the Librarian be requested to deliver no books
or stationery to the Pages of this House, without an order from
the Speaker, some member, or the Clerk of this House.
The order of the day being,
A bil1 entitled, an act to prohibit the Clerks of the several
Courts of the counties of this State, and the Superior Court of the
city of Baltimore, from issuing licenses to join in marriage, males
under the age of twenty-one years, and females under the age of
sixteen years, without the consent of the parents or guardian of
such persons;
Mr. Partridge moved to strike out "Superior Court," wherever
it occurs in said bill, and insert "Court of Common Pleas;"
Which was adopted.
The said bill was then read the third time, and rejected by
yeas and nays as follows.
