Mr. Frazier, from the committee on claims, reported unfavora-
bly on the petition of sundry citizens of Charles county, praying
for the passage of a law allowing to the Register of Wills of
said county, additional compensation for his services as Treasu-
rer for the Board of School Commissioners of said county.

Which report was concurred in.

Also, made the following


REPORT.

The committee on claims have examined the treasurer's account
from the 24th of February, 1854, to the 30th of September, 1854;
and from the 30th of September, 1854, to the 30th of Septem-
ber, 1855, and find them correct.               

All of which is respectfully submitted.

WM. FRAZIER, Chairman.

Mr. Lester, from the committee appointed to visit the Tobacco
Warehouses of the State of Maryland, made a report.

On motion of Mr. Dowell,             

Five hundred extra copies were ordered to be printed for the
use of the House.               

Mr. Harrington, from the committee on claims, reported a bill
entitled, an act to refund to Amon Green, of Baltimore city, cer-
tain taxes paid in error to B. F. Zimmerman, Auditor.

Which was read the first time.                  

Mr. Davis, from the committee on agriculture, reported favor-
ably on the Senate bill entitled, an act to establish and endow an
Agricultural college in the State of Maryland,                 

Mr. Silver, from the committee on corporations, reported a bill
entitled, an act to incorporate the Myersville Brass Band, in
Frederick county.                

               

Which was read the first time.                                    

                                                       

Also, a bill entitled, an act amendatory of an act passed at

January session, 1853, chapter 153, entitled, an act to incorpo-
rate the Baltimore and Potomac Railroad Company.

Which was read the first time.

Also, a bill entitled, an act to amend an act to incorporate
Manchester Savings Institution.
