Which was adopted.                                        

On motion of Mr. Valiant,
The orders of the day were postponed till Tuesday, 12 o'clock.

On motion of Mr. Merrick,

The rules were Suspended to allow him to offer the following
the amendment to bill entitled an act for the repairing of the old,
and constructing additional public buildings at Annapolis.

Amendment Proposed.           

Strike out the word "Governor" Whenever it appears in the
bill, and insert the words, ''President of the Senate."           

On motion of Mr. Merrick,

The rules were suspended to allow the third reading of the
above named bill.

On motion of Mr. Partridge,

The rules Were suspended to allow him offer the following
amendment to the bill:                               

Add to the 5th section the words, "and to have the room
adjoining the Court of Appeals, fitted up as a consultation room for
the use of the Judges of said court, subject at all times however, to
the use by the Legislature of said room, as a committee room;

Amendment accepted.

On motion of Mr. Partridge,

The further consideration of the bill was postponed and made

the order of the day for Tuesday 12 o'clock.                

                                                              

On motion of Mr. Sudler,

                 

The rules were suspended to allow the second reading of the
bill entitled, an act to appoint a special police for Kent county,

On motion of Mr. Sudler,                 

The rules were suspended to allow the third reading of the
said bill.                                                                               

The said bill was then read the third time and lost for want of
a constitutional majority by the following vote:

AFFIRMATIVE.

Messrs. Sudler,             Goldsborough, Hugg,

Dorsey,                      Parker,                      Askew,

Neff                         Brengle,                   Tower,
