352           JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS.             [Feb. 18,

Which was referred to the Harford county delegation.

Mr. Carper presented a petition from 52 citizens of Frederick
city praying that the petition to open a street through the barracks
field may not be granted;                                         

Which was referred to the Committee on Roads.

Mr. Davis presented a petition of Henry Baker and sundry
other citizens of Frederick county praying to equalize taxation;

Which was referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Mr. Dorsey presented a petition and remonstrance of the Trus-
tees of primary school district No. 38 of Anne Arundel county,
against any change in the present mode of collecting the school
taxes in said district;

Which was referred to the Anne Arundel county delegation.

Mr. Harris presented a petition of Geo. S. King and other cit-
zens of St. Mary's county to provide for a uniform system of
registration of births, marriages, and deaths in this State;

Which was referred to the Committee on Judiciary.

Mr. Daniel presented a petition of sundry citizens of Somer-
set county, praying the passage of a law to prohibit the catching
or planting of oysters in said county in the months of June, July,
and August;

Which was referred to the Somerset county delegation.

Mr. Smith of Carroll presented a petition of George E. Wamp-
ler and 64 other citizens of Carroll county praying a modification
of the law of 1840, chapter 154 entitled, an act regulating the
license of hawkers and pedlars and for other purposes;

Which was referred to the committee on ways and means.

Also a petition of Philemon Welsh, Oliver Jackson Wilson,
Philemon Henry Wilson, Martha Wilson, and Sarah Lowry Wil-
son, of Carroll county, praying that the names of Oliver Jackson,
Philemon Henry, Martha, Sarah Lowry, and Elizabeth Wilson,
be changed to Oliver J. Welsh, Philemon H. Welsh, Martha
Welsh, Sarah Lowry Welsh, and Elizabeth Welsh;

Which was referred to the Carroll county delegation.
On motion of Mr. Rowles,                                   

Leave was granted to introduce a bill to extend the time of
collection to E. A. Talbot, late Sheriff of Howard county.

Which was referred to Howard county delegation.
