Also, on a bill entitled, an act authorizing the Vestry of Ca-
toctin Parish in Frederick county to hold additional real estate
for Parish purposes not to exceed a certain quantity.

Which were read the first time.

Mr. Partridge, chairman of the Committee on Judiciary re-
ported on a bill entitled, a further additional supplement
to an act entitled, an act to incorporate a company for the pur-
pose of cutting and making a canal between the river Delaware
and the Chesapeake, session 1799, chapter 16, and to enable said
Company to create a mortgage and to make valid certain pro-
ceedings therein mentioned.                           

Which was read the first time.

Also, on a bill entitled, an act in relation to the acknowledg-
ment of deeds and other instruments of writing heretofore made
before justices of the peace for Baltimore city and Baltimore

county.

Which was read the first time.                          

Mr. Stubbs, from the select committee, reported a bill entitled,
an act to establish a new election district in Cecil county.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Cecil coun-
ty delegation.

Mr. Scott reported a bill entitled, an act authorizing the county
commissioners of Cecil county in their discretion, to levy a sum
of money for the construction of a new bridge over Back creek in
said county;

Which was read the first time.                             

Mr. Dail reported a bill entitled, an act to authorize the county
commissioners for Dorchester county to levy a sum of money to
pay for the building a bridge across Slaughter Creek from the

main land to Taylor's Island;

Mr. Daniel from the Select Committee reported a bill entitled,
an act to provide for the purchasing a suitable library for the Ma-
ryland Penitentiary;
