322            JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 14,

reported favorably on a bill entitled, an act confirmatory of the
title of the General Insurance Company of Maryland to the
Franklin Turnpike Road, and of the license to erect and fix
gates and collect tolls thereupon, heretofore issued by the Gover-
nor to the said General Insurance Company of Maryland.

                             

Which was read the first time.

Also on a bill entitled, an act to appropriate a sum of money
to Richard B. Carmichael, Grafton L. Dulany and D. C. H.
Emory, for their services as arbitrators under the act of Decem-
ber session 1846, chapter 347, entitled, a supplement to an act
for the relief of Passmore McCullough;

Also reported favorably on a bill entitled, an act for the re-
lief of Mahlon Roderick, Sheriff of Frederick county;                 

Also on a memorial and petition of Wm. F. Frick, asking com-
pensation for his services in the case of Achison vs. Superinten-
dant National Road in Maryland, in the Supreme Court;

Which was adopted.                                     

And also a petition of James Harmanson and twenty-six other
citizens of Worcester county, praying the Legislature to remit a
certain fine imposed upon said Harmanson by the Circuit Court
of Worcester county; and

On motion of Mr. Smith, of Worcester,
The said report lies over under the rule.

Mr. Rankin, from the select committee, reported favorable on
a bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Carroll's Island Com-
pany of Baltimore county;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Stack, from the select committee, reported favorably on a
bill entitled, an act to incorporate the trustees of the Methodist
Episcopal Parsonage of Greensborough Circuit;

Which was read the first time.

Also on a bill entitled, an act for the benefit of Daniel Hub-
bard, of Caroline county;               

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Stone, from the select committee, reported a bill entitled,
an act to make valid a deed from James F. Dyson, Margaret
Dyson, Gared F. Dyson and O. W. Dyson, to Wm. E. Bartels;

Which was read the first time.
