to incorporate the Mechanics Exchange and Savings Company
for the purpose of making loans, collection of notes and drafts,
&c., passed at January session 1864;

Also on a bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Brookville,
Sandy Springs and Laurel Stage Company of Maryland;

Also on a bill entitled, an act to amend an act entitled, an act
to incorporate the Frostburg Savings Bank.

Also on a bill entitled, an act to amend an act entitled, an act
to amend the charter of the Union Plank or Turnpike Road Com-
pany passed at January session 1854;

Which was read the first time.

Also on a bill entitled, an act to incorporate the Susquehanna
Tribe No. 27, of the improved order of Red Men;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Sudler, Chairman of the Committee on Colored Population
reported favorably on a bill entitled, an act relating to free negroes
and slaves;                                 

Which was read the first time;

Mr. Davis, Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture, reported
unfavorably on the order to abolish the office of Guano Inspector.

On motion of Mr. Merrick,

The further reading of the report was dispensed with, and that
five hundred copies be printed.

Mr. Sudler, chairman of the Committee on Colored Popular
tion reported favorably on a bill entitled, an act to authorize the
Clerk of the Circuit Court for Howard county to execute a deed
of manumission for the slaves of Jeremiah Wilson, deceas-

ed.

Which was read the first time.

And, also, on a bill entitled, an act for the relief of Joseph
Burton and his wife and children;

Which was read the first time.                    

                               

Mr Frazier from the Committee on Claims, reported favorably
on a bill entitled, an act appropriating a sum of money for the
payment of the claims of James Murray, Thomas A. Mitchell,
Samuel S. Riley, Chaney & Pritchard, John W. Davis, James
H. League, Dixon, Balbirnie & Co., James Hopkins, Noah Por-
