318            JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 14,

Which was referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Mr. Scott presented a petition of 52 citizens of the second
election district of Cecil county praying for the passage of a law
authorising the county commissioners of said county to build a
draw bridge over Back Creek at or near Chesapeake city and to
levy for the same;

Which was referred to the Cecil county delegation.

On motion of Mr. Stone,

Leave was granted to introduce a bill to make valid a deed
from Chatham P. Cooksey, and Martha Cooksey his wife, to
Susanah H. Dowing;

Which was referred to the Charles county delegation.


On motion of Mr. Stack,

Leave was granted to introduce a bill to authorize and direct
the Justices of the Peace in Caroline county to hand over to their
successors their dockets, instead of returning them, to the Clerk
of the Circuit Court in said county;

Which was referred to the, Caroling county delegation.
On motion of Mr. Lester,             

Leave was granted to introduce a bill to regulate the sale of
merchandise and other property in the city of Baltimore;

Which was referred to the Baltimore city delegation.
On motion of Mr. Askew,                                     

leave was granted to introduce a bill entitled an act to incor-
porate the American Bank of Baltimore;                    

Which was referred to the Baltimore city delegation.
On motion of Mr. Griffith,

Leave was granted to report a bill to present swine from going

at large in the head of Sassafras and its vicinity in Kent county;

Which was referred to the Kent county delegation.

On motion of Mr. Dowell,

Leave was granted to introduce a bill to make valid a deed
from Francis Stevens to Wm. P. Hardesty and others trustees of
the Mount Harmony, Methodist Episcopal Church of Calvert
county;                                                                   

Which was referred to the Committee on Judiciary,
Mr. Wickes submitted the following resolutions:
