Mr. Fiery presented a petition from 58 citizens of Washington
county asking the passage of a law to compel the Baltimore and
Ohio Railroad Company to erect a depot at Sandy Hook, in said
county;

Which was referred to the Committee on Internal improve-
ments.

Mr. Rolph presented a memorial of Chas. McCallister and 91
other citizens of Queen Anne's county praying for an ant, pro-
viding for the payment to the Eastern Shore counties, of the
amount due to them from the State;

Which was referred to the Committee on Internal Improve-

Mr. Brengle presented a petition from sundry citizens of Fred-
erick county praying the Legislature to pass a law taxing dogs for
certain purposes;

Which was referred to the Frederick county delegation.

Mr. Brooke presented a memorial of D. C. Digges and other
citizens of Prince George's county praying that the pay now al-
lowed to the bailiffs of the Circuit Court may be increased;

Which was referred to the Prince George's county delegation.

Mr. Stubbs presented a petition of James Barnes and 20 others
of Port Deposit in Cecil county, asking that a committee may be
appointed to investigate the condition of the old Maryland canal,
and report thereon;                 

Which was referred to a Special Committee composed of Messrs.
Stubbs, Jarrett, Davis, Toadvine, and Bowie.

Also a petition of J. Tome and 70 other citizens of Port De
posit, praying the appointment of a committee to investigate the
condition, of the old Maryland canal and report to the House;

Which was referred to a Special Committee composed of Messrs.
Stubbs, Jarrett, Davis, Toadvine, and Bowie.

Mr. Brengle presented a petition from C. Statey and others,
praying the Legislature to pass a law or laws taxing all real and
personal property in the State of Maryland;

Which was referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Mr. Hauver presented a petition of 29 citizens of Frederick
county praying for a law to equalize taxation in this State;
