On motion of Mr. Goldsborough,

The message was then sent to the Senate.

Mr. Dowell presented a petition of William P. Hardesty and
others, trustees of Mount Harmony Methodist Episcopal Church
of Calvert county, asking the passage of an act to make valid a
deed from Francis Stevens to said trustees, and for other purposes
therein mentioned;                                                          

Which was referred to the Committee on Judiciary.

Mr. Frazier submitted the following report of the Trustees of
the Cambridge Academy in Dorchester county:

To the Honorable, the General Assembly of Maryland:

The undersigned in obedience to the resolutions and acts of
Assembly in such cases made and provided, begs leave to report
to your honorable body that the classical department of the Cam-
bridge Academy is now conducted by the Rev. Theo. P. Barber.
That there are thirty-four scholars in that department, that the
English department is conducted by Gardner Bayley and he has
thirty scholars in his department, that there are more charity
scholars in the Academy, than is required by the resolution dis-
tributing the State donation, and that this institution is conducted
with great efficiency.

All of which is respectfully submitted,
