Which was referred to the Committee on Roads.

Mr. Davis presented a petition of James H. Gambrill and oth-
er citizens of Frederick county praying for a law to put up two
gates on or near the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad for the protec-
tion of cattle and other stock;

Which was referred to Committee on Roads.

Also a petition of B. A Cunigham and other citizens of Fred-
erick county praying a modification regulating the license of haw-
kers and pedlars;

Which was referred to the Committee on ways and means.

Also a petition of I. C. O'Neil late Sheriff of Frederick coun-
ty praying the time be extended, to enable him to make his
collections.

Which was referred to the Committee on ways and means.

On motion of Mr. Silver,                                     

Leave was granted to report a bill to refund to Skipeth Gor-
rell, late collector of Harford county, money erroneously over-
paid.

Which was referred to the Committee on Claims.

On motion of Mr. Heath,

Leave was granted to introduce a bill to incorporate the Board
of Visitors of the Mount Washington Female College, Baltimore

county.                                                                 

Which Was referred to the Committee on Corporations.

On motion of Mr. Rolph,

Leave was granted to introduce a bill entitled, an act to incor-
porate a company under the name of the Sudlersville Library
Company.                               

Which was referred to the Committee on Corporations.

On motion of Mr. Askew,                                   

Leave was granted to introduce a bill entitled, an act to regu-
late the fees of constables in Baltimore city.
Which was referred to the Baltimore city delegation.

Mr. Harrington offered the following preamble and resolu-
