Said bill was recommitted to the Committee on Claims.           

The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following bills:

A bill entitled, an act to provide for the compensation of Daniel
C. Digges and Thomas G. Pratt, for legal services rendered to the
State, in the case of the State of Maryland, at the instance and
upon the relation of T. Watkins Ligon, Governor, vs. Thomas
H. Osbourne, of Chas., late Sheriff of Prince George's county;

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Committee

on Claims.                                                              

Also, a bill entitled, an act to recognise the Preston Coal and
Iron Company of the State of Virginia, as a corporation, and au-
thorising it to exercise the powers and privileges of a corpora-
tion within the State of Maryland, for mining and manufacturing
purposes;                                                                             

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Allegany
county delegation.                                             

A bill entitled, an act to amend an act entitled, an act to in-
corporate the Mechanics' Exchange and Savings Company, for
the purpose of making loans collection of notes and drafts, &c.,
passed at January session 1852,
