288               JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS {Feb. li,

Mr. Timmons from the Select Committee reported a bill entitled
an act to authorize the county commissioners of Worcester coun-
ty to sell a portion of the Almshouse property in said county.

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Kildow from the Select Committee reported a bill entitled
an act to make valid a deed from the Llangollen Mining Company
to Isaac Kalbough.                                      

Which was read the first time.                                             

Mr. Sudler reported a bill entitled an act to amend an act pass-
ed at January session 1853, entitled an act to lay off, open and
locate a public road in Kent county from Chestertown to Quaker
Neck.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Committee on
Roads and Highway.

A bill entitled, an act to compel persons taking an appeal from
the decision of any justice of the peace, to the Circuit Court of
Washington county, to pay all costs on said judgment, before an
appeal can be taken.

Was read the second time.

A bill entitled, an act to provide for the compensation of Chas.
J. M. Gwinn, for certain services performed by him under the
appointment of the Governor, in the Court of Appeals of Mary-
land;

Was read with the following amendment proposed by the

Committee on Claims.                                   


Amendment Proposed.                     

Strike out "six" in the third line of first section and insert

"four."                                 

Which was not assented to.
