Which was referred to the Howard county delegation.
On motion of Mr. Dorsey,                  

Leave was granted (he Anno Arundel county delegation to
bring in a bill to authorize the Tax Commissioners of Anne Arun-
del county to hear the appeal of Wm. S. Redgraves.

Mr. Harding from the Committee on Claims reported a bill en-
titled, an act appropriating a sum of money to pay Thomas Har-
bine for services rendered the State in the trial of the case of the
State against John Spait, in the Circuit Court of Frederick county.

Which was read the first time.

Also a bill entitled, an act for the payment of legal fees due
James LI. Martin, Esq., of Talbot county, for services rendered
as Prosecuting Attorney;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Hall, presented a report of the trustees of Brookville
Academy, Montgomery county.

Which was referred to the Committee on Education.

Mr. Sudler from the Committee on Colored Population report-
ed a bill entitled, an act to, appoint a special police for Kent
county;                     

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Jarrett, from the Select Committee, reported a bill entitled,
an act to repeal an act entitled, an act to limit attachment in cases
when laid in the hands of employers, passed January session
1852, chapter 340;

Which was read the first time.


On motion of Mr. Frey,

The rules were suspended to enable him to report favorably,
from the Select Committee on a bill entitled, an act to authorize
the Justices of the peace in the several election districts of Al-
legany county, to deliver their dockets and all official papers ap-
pertaining thereto, into the hands of their respective successors
in office;                                                                     

Which was read the first time.

The doorkeeper returned and reported, that he had notified
the absent members to attend.                                    

On motion of Mr. Kildow,                   

The further call of the House was dispensed with.
