Which was referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Mr. Valiant presented the petition of Catharine Wistell, widow
of Robert Purtle, a soldier of the Maryland line during the revo-
lution;

Which was referred to the Committee on Pensions.

Mr. Harrington presented a memorial from 79 citizens of Bal-
timore praying for a law to give justices of the peace criminal
jurisdiction in certain cases;

Which was referred to the Baltimore city delegation.

Also a memorial from 165 citizens of Baltimore praying for a
law giving justices of the peace criminal jurisdiction in certain
criminal cases;

Which was referred to the Baltimore city delegation.

On motion of Mr. Kildow,
The rules were suspended to present the following

REPORT.

To the Honorable, the Speaker of the House of Delegates :

Sir :—In obedience to an order of the House of Delegates
adopted on the 26th of January last, requiring the State Librarian
to report to the House of Delegates how he has disposed of the
copies of Maryland Chancery Decisions deposited in the State
Library;

He has the honor to report:                         

In order that there may be no misconception in regard to this
matter, that he deems it proper to shew what it is the Librarian
has in fact done, against which the order adopted by the House
seems to be directed. I therefore present the following short list,
of some of the works with which the Library has been enriched
by my disposing of the surplus volumes of our reports, &c.

West & House of Lords' Cases.                           

Clark and Finnelly's Reports.
