Fourth line, section one, after "his" insert "her."
Amendment assented to.
Also,                                                                                                             

"Provided that he or she shall not remain out of the State at

any one time longer than ten days."

Said bill as amended, was read and ordered to be engrossed
for a third reading.

A bill entitled, an act relating to fines, forfeitures and pen-
alties,                                                               

Mr. Askew offered the following amendment;

In the first section, fourth line, strike out "Superior court of
Baltimore, and insert "Court of Common Pleas for Baltimore
city."

Amendment assented to.

Mr. Rankin moved the further reading of the said bill be post-
poned till to-morrow,

Which was determined in the negative.             

The said bill was then read the second time, and ordered to
be engrossed for a third reading.
On motion of Mr. Silver,

The rules were suspended to enable him to introduce a bill to

amend the charter of the Pickell Mining Company.

On motion of Mr. Smith of Carroll county,

The rules were suspended to enable him to report on a bill enti-
tled an act to appropriate a sum of money to Charles W. Web-
ster, for a compilation and codification of the Laws of this State,
prepared by him;

Which was read the first time, and referred to the committee
on claims.                                                       

On motion of Mr. Dorsey,                         

The rules were suspended to enable him to report favorably on
a bill entitled, an act to incorporate the stockholders of the Anne
Arundel county academy,                                

Which was read the first time.

The House proceeded with the ordinary business of the day,
a bill entitled, an act supplementary to the act of 1854, chapter 4,
passed for the regulation of the catching of oysters in the waters of,
Somerset county; and a bill entitled, an act to fix the time when the
clerk of the Circuit Court for Somerset county shall pay over to
the treasurer of the School Fund of said county certain moneys
as provided for in said act, and making his official bond liable for
the payment thereof.

Which were read the second time,
