In the 2nd section 1st line after "store" insert the words "ex-
cept apothecaries or medicine stores."

Amendment assented to.                                             

Mr. Partridge offered the following as a Substitute:

Section 3. Be it enacted that this act shall not apply to Apoth-
ecaries or venders of medicines provided however that if the owner
or owners of any apothecary or medicine store shall sell any other
article therefrom except medicines, he or they shall be subject on
conviction to the penalties prescribed in this act;

Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Askew,

The fourth section was stricken out.                               

The said bill was then read as amended and ordered to be en-
grossed lor a third reading.

A bill entitled, an act to authorise the county Commissioners
of Charles county, to levy a sum of money for the repairs of the
Court House, in said county;

Was read the second time.                           

A bill entitled, an, act to authorise the county Commissioners
of Kent county in this State, to make, establish, alter and close
public landing places of said county;

Was read the second time.            

A bill entitled, an act to amend and explain an act relating to
free negroes in Kent, Cecil and Queen Anne's counties, passed a
December fission 1849, Chapter 638.

Mr. Stubbs offered the following amendments:

Second line of preamble, after Kent county insert, "and also
parts of Cecil county.          

In section one, line third, after "Kent" insert, "of Cecil," and
change word "county" to "counties," same line,

Amendments assented to.

Mr. Griffith offered the following amendment:

Section first, third line, strike out "hire by the month or year,"

and insert, "are employed by any farmer or farmers."
