An act to appropriate a sum of money to pay Richard B. Car-
michael, Grafton L. Dulaney and D. C. H. Emory, for their
services as arbitrators under the act of December session eigh-
teen hundred and forty six, chapter 347, entitled, "a supple-
ment to an act for the relief of Passmore McCullough."

Whereas, by the said act, it was provided that the said arbitra-
tors should be paid for their services, as in the said act is provi-
ded; and whereas, they have not yet been paid, and to that end
legislation is necessary; therefore,

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
that the Treasurer upon the warrant of the Comptroller is hereby
authorized and directed to pay out of any unappropriated money in
the Treasury to Richard B. Carmichael, Grafton L. Dulaney and
D. E. H. Emory each the sum of three hundred dollars.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from
the date of its passage.

The Secretary of the Senate delivered a bill entitled, an act to
authorize the erection of a bridge across north branch of Trent
creek in St. Mary's county;

Which was read the first time; and referred to Messrs. Plowden,
Harris and Merrick.

Also a bill entitled, an act further amendatory of the act enti-
tled, an act to incorporate the Cumberland and Pennsylvania
Rail Road Company;                   

Was read the first time and referred to the Committee on Cor-
porations.

And returned a bill entitled, a supplement to an act entitled,
an act to incorporate the Worcester Rail Road Company, passed
at the January session 1853, chapter 273;

With the proposed amendment.            

            AMENDMENT PROPOSED,

In line 19 insert "President" and strike out "twenty one" and

insert "twenty."

On motion of Mr. Parker,                  

The further consideration of the bill was postponed to next
Saturday week, the 14th instant.

A bill entitled, an act for the relief of the Trustees of the Fred-
erick Female Seminary;                                         

Which was read the second time.            

A bill entitled, an act to authorize the county commissioners
for Cecil county to levy a sum of money to build a bridge across
