A bill entitled, an act authorizing the commissioners of Bal-
timore county to levy a tax upon the first election district of said
county for the payment of the debt contracted by the commission-
ers of public schools under the act of 1832, chapter 287.

The further reading of the bill was postponed, and referred to
the Baltimore county delegation.
A bill entitled, an act relating to the grading and paving north
avenue in the city of Baltimore, supplementary to an act entitled,
an act to vest certain powers in the corporation of the city of Bal-
timore in relation to streets, passed on the 23d of March 1839;
Was read the second time.
A bill entitled, an act to fix the per diem of the county com-
missioners, judges of the orphans' court and trustees of the poor
of Somerset county;
Was read the second time.
A bill entitled, an act to make judgments rendered by Justices
of the Peace, liens on real estate.
Mr. Daniel offered the following amendment.
In line 38 of section 1, after the word "Peace," add the words
"to the amount of twenty dollars or upwards."
