The said bill was then sent to the Senate.

A bill entitled an act to extend the charter of the Baltimore
Steam Packet company, passed at December session, 1839, chap-
ter 328, for the period of twenty years;

Was read the first time and referred to the committee on cor-
porations.

A bill entitled, an act to change the name of Edmund Marion
Dant of Prince George's county, to Edward Marion Clements,

Was read the first time and referred to Messrs. Brooke, Bow-
ling and Harding.

And return a bill entitled, an act to authorise and direct the
sale of certain lauds devised to Lawrence W. Bates, and Eliza
his Wife as trustees, by Elizabeth Bayley deceased, and the in-
vestment of the proceeds thereof in other property for the same pur-
poses;                                                                                 

The said bill was endorsed "passed by yeas and nays.

Also, returned a bill entitled, an act to amend the charter of the
Baltimore Copper Smelting Company;

Endorsed "passed by yeas and nays."                         

Also, a bill entitled, an act to refund to James Sparks, of Queen
Anne's county, a certain amount of money;

Endorsed "passed by yeas and nays."

Also, a bill entitled, an act to make valid a deed from Benja-
min Fitzhugh and others to the Mineral Bank of Maryland and
Normand Bruce;

             

Endorsed "passed by yeas and nays."                           

Also, a report from the Secretary of the Harford county Acad-
emy, endorsed "referred to the consideration of the House of Del-
egates."

A bill entitled, an act to pay Henry M. Murray for services ren-
dered the State in the case of McPherson Lyles;             

Which was read the second time;                   

On motion of Mr. Stewart,           

Three fourths of the members concurring, the said bill was read
the third time and passed by yeas and nays as follows :
