curred.

Which was referred to the Committee on Claims.

Mr. Harding from the Committee on Claims reported favorably
on a bill entitled, an act appropriating a sum of money to pay
J. T. B. Dorsey, for services rendered in the case of the State
against Shillinger, in the Court of Appeals in 1854;

Which was read the first time.

Also a bill entitled, an act appropriating a sum of money to
pay J. Mason Campbell for services rendered the State in the tri-
al of the case of the State of Maryland against Isaac R. Smith, in
the Supreme Court of the United States;
             

Which was read the first time.                                     

Mr. Partridge from the Committee on Judiciary, reported favo-
rably on a bill, entitled, an act to authorize Jacob Hoff, Edward
Kean, and Lewis Turner Trustees, to execute a deed of certain
lands in Baltimore county;               

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Rankin from the Committee on Pensions, reported favo-
rably on a bill entitled, an act for the benefit of the legal Repre-
sentative of Thomas Wolford, late, a Lieutenant in the army of
the Revolution;

Which was read the first time.                           

Mr. Stone from the Select Committee reported favorably on a
bill entitled, an act an additional supplement to an act passed
at December Session, 1838, entitled, an act to provide for the es-
tablishment of District Schools in Charles county,
                                               

Which was read the first time.                                         

Mr. Lester from the Select Committee reported favorably on a
bill entitled an act to regulate and restrict the granting of licenses
to retail intoxicating liquors in this State;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Jarrett from the Select Committee reported favorably on a
bill entitled, an act empowering the County Commissioners of
Harford county, to levy a sum of money to construct a bridge
over Little Creek;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Stubbs from the Select Committee reported favorably on a
bill entitled, an act to authorize the county commissioners for
Cecil county to levy a sum of money to build a bridge across Little
Elk Creek near to the Blue Ball Tavern;
