Which was referred to the Committee on Lotteries.

Mr. Stack presented a petition of sundry citizens of Caroline
county praying the passage of an act to authorise certain Trustees
of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Greensborough circuit to
sell and convey certain property therein named, and also to in-
corporate the Trustees of the Methodist Parsonage of Greens-
borough, in said circuit;                                             

Which was referred to Special Committee composed of Messrs.
Stack, Whitby, and Smith of Worcester.

Mr. Dorsey presented a petition of one hundred and sixty one
citizens of Anne Arundel county praying a law, prohibiting per-
sons not citizens of said county from taking oysters in the waters
of said county;                                                         

Which was referred to the Anne Arundel delegation.

Mr. Lester presented a petition of Coats & Glenn and fifty
other citizens of Baltimore opposed to the erection of a bridge
across the Patapsco river;

Which was referred to the Special Committee of Baltimore city
and Anne Arundel county delegation.

Also, a memorial of the Rev. H. V. D. Johns and 16 other
Ministers of the Gospel, in favor of repealing the act of 1777,
chapter, 12, so far as it holds ministers responsible for solemnizing
the rights of marriage in certain cases therein named;

Which was referred to the Committee on Judiciary.

Also a memorial of Saml. Merritt and 47 other consumers of
lumber in the city of Baltimore asking for a change in the Inspec-
tion Laws of this State;                                    

Which was referred to the Committee on Inspections.

Mr. Fiery presented a petition from citizens of Washington
county praying the repeal of the act of 1846, chapter 172, prohib-
iting the sale of ardent spirits within two miles of St. James Col-
lege;
Which was referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Mr. Goldsborough presented a petition of Robert G. Price of
Queen Anne's county;

Which was referred to the Queen Anne's County delegation.

The order of day the being a bill entitled, an act to pay the
Patuxent Company and Laurel Machine. Company of Prince
George's county certain taxes erroneously paid by them;
On motion of Mr. Bowie,

The bill was laid upon the table.
