Treasury, Annapolis, Jan. 25th, 1856
To the Honorable Wm. H. Travers,                   

Speaker of the House of Delegates.

In compliance with the third Section of chapter 351 I have the
honor to transmit herewith all the, reports I have received from
the Trustees of the several Colleges, Academies and Schools
in the State for the years 1854 and 1855.

On motion of Mr. Askew,
It was referred to the committee on Education,

On motion of Mr. Hall,                 

The House adjourned until Monday at 12 o'clock.

MONDAY, January 28th, 1856.

The House met. Present at the call of the roll the following
members:

Messrs. Neff, Wilson, of Calvert, Wright, Roberts, Lawson,
Frazier, Thomas, Bowie, Goldsborough, Smith, of Worcester,
Davis, Carper, Grove, Hauver, Wolfe, Silver, Stack, Fiery,
Witmer, Loughridge, Corby, Harding, Tower, Frey, Buffington,
Rowles.                                                                

There being no quorum present,

On motion of Mr. Carper,                      

The House took a recess of one Hour;

When at the call of the roll the following members were present:

Messrs. Speaker, Neff, Wilson, of Calvert, Stone, Wright,
Heath, Roberts, Lawson, Daniel, Frazier, Thomas, Miller, Bowie,
Goldsborough, Parker, Smith, of Worcester, Davis, Carper,
Grove, Wolfe, Duvall, Silver, Stack, Kennedy, Partridge, Abbott,
Lester, Askew, Fiery, Witmer, Reichard, Loughridge, Corby,
Harding, Hall, Tower, Wickes, Buffington.

Mr. Partridge presented a petition of Lemuel Roberts, late Lot-
tery Commissioner, in relation to the claims of the Trustees of
the Frederick Female Seminary on the Lottery Fund.
